Cooperation with Federal Government of Somalia
The GUST and WFDP-Intergovernmental Organization working together in the bonds of affiliation and partnership to maximize engagement with Governments, United Nations and other International Organizations to promote and advocate the Global Sustainable Development Goals, set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 for the year 2030 to end poverty, protect the planet, build a global village of lasting peace and security based on sustainability and ensure prosperity for all. Therefore, Prof. Mohamed G. Kafafy, President of GUST officially participated in the the Top Government Officials Meetings with high-level government officials in Mogadishu Federal Republic of Somalia for discussing the cooperation opportunities to sustainably developing Somalia in different sectors such as Education, Green Economy, Infrastructure, Industries and Transportation.

In their meeting chaired by Prime Minister of Federal Republic of Somalia H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, the Council of Ministers endorsed a Headquarters agreement for World Fund for Development and Planning – WFDP. Moreover, the WFDP is recognizing the Global University of Science and Technology (GUST) as existing International Institution for Higher Education. The GUST serving as the think tanks and academic arm of the WFDP around the world. The WFDP is an international law and public utility, holding diplomatic relations and both bilateral and multilateral treaties and conventions with multiple Sovereign States who are members of the United Nations. WFDP is an Intergovernmental Entity which enjoys Special Consultative Status to United Nations ECOSOC and is accredited and affiliated with the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (UN- OSAA). WFDP’s rights and duties are recognized and respected by the international community as it is subject to international law and public utility.
