The Global University of Science & Technology (GUST), headed by Prof. Dr. Mohamed G. Kafafy, celebrated the professional graduation ceremony of the 2nd new batch for a group of executive Managers from esteemed public & private organizations has taken place in Lubumbashi, DRC Central Africa.
The graduates were students in professional education & certifications for HR Management professional program in the Lubumbashi City. This program conducted to award the International Professional Certifications by HR Management Institute (HRMI) and Professional Diplomas by GUST at the end of the program after completion the examinations successfully.

1st Professional Graduation Ceremony Held in East Africa
The Global University of Science & Technology (GUST), headed by Prof. Dr. Mohamed G. Kafafy, celebrated the professional graduation ceremony of a new batch for a group of executive Managers has taken place first time in Bujumbura City, Republic of Burundi in East Africa.
More than 50 graduates were students in professional education & certifications for HR Management and Project & Contract Management programs in the Republic of Burundi. These programs to award the Certified Human Resources Manager (CHRM) and Certified Project & Contract Management Professional (PCMP) by HRMI as well as Diploma by GUST at the end of the programs after completion the examinations successfully.
The Minister of Public Service, Labour and Employment official representative, CEO’s of the top financial institutions, the Director of BBFM University Center, as well as important figures, and some of the media professionals & journalists participated in our professional graduation ceremony. The Minister official representative expressed his gratitude to the GUST for providing a high-quality professional education to all students in the programs. Mr. Jean Léonard, the Director of BBFM University Center indicates that the Center stands for professional development, “committed to support other organizations, institutions, and business management, how to be equipped with capacities in their daily activities that they are running.” Conducted for the first time in Burundi by the Global University of Science & Technology (GUST) Human Resources Management Institute (HRMI), He confides that the graduates were learned in human resource management and project and contract management. “Both professional programs were delivered to different participants from different institutions namely banks, insurance companies, enterprises and even independent consultants who need to broaden their knowledge related to the good management. We delivered international certificates to the graduates; it means the certificates are globally recognized.” Therefore, Jean Leonard announces that the 2nd round for these professional programs are scheduled from June 19, 2023. Also he thanks the employers who sent their employees to this professional programs and promises that their investment will bear fruit because, he concluded, those who succeed better find success where others leave. Finally, He invited everyone inside and outside Burundi who needs to develop his/her skills and understanding in different domains especially in human resources management and project management to participate in this second round.”
For his part, Prof. Dr. Mohamed G. Kafafy, President of GUST , congratulated the graduates for their commitment and effective participations during the programs from the beginning till graduation. “The courses contents and examinations were not easy but fortunately almost all of you succeeded. For those who didn’t pass, there still a second round and reexaminations in June 2023. Also, said that the Human is the foundation of any development, therefore we have to develop human resources and then human resources develop everything. Most African countries have everything they need to develop such as human and all natural resources, but we only have issue in the resources management. Then, our management professional programs aiming to management development to provide working professionals with global competencies standards at different industries to manage their organizational resources efficiently & effectively. He stated also that the university is always proud of its graduates and students because they are its true ambassadors around the world; and that he is also proud of the university’s research, academic and professional education locally & globally, bridging the qualifications gap between academia and industry especially since the reputation of the university and its students globally occupies an advanced position. He concluded that the university was established to be a pioneering University in Education for Employment (E4E) and Learning for Leadership (L4L) programs that contribute to supporting industry and the growth of the local & global economy and consolidating the principles of knowledge, science and technology as a basis for the growth of communities for achieving the Global Sustainable Development Goals.
One of the professional graduates, Mrs. Fleurette Nimubona, the head of human resources management at Ecobank Burundi, tells how beneficial she found the training program. “I have experience in human resources management. I was able to put theories on what I was doing in my daily activities and the most important I got as an added value is that I will be able now to convince others like human resources managers how their support is very important in the human resources management. Getting the international certificate is for her more than a pride. “It is different from a diploma; it is different from a degree from school. This is to certify that in the domain of the human resources management that one has skills, capabilities. It is an added value for now I will have more confidence in my work”. Fleurette invites others who would like to be equipped with skills in human resources to partake in the forthcoming program. “The human resources capital is very important. The owners of the companies are waiting for a return on the investment. You cannot be able to give this return on investment if you’re not equipped to do that. So, I would like to call everyone to join this program which is coming again in June. It is an opportunity which is given to us as Burundians. Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony Class of 2022/2023
Special Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony Held
GUST, headed by Prof. Dr. Mohamed G. Kafafy, celebrated the postgraduate graduation ceremony of a new batch for a group of Senior Engineers & Managers has taken place on the HCCD of the Ministry of Public Business Sector, Egypt.
The graduates were students in a Project Management Postgraduate Diploma program initiated in Jan 2022. This program conducted at the GUST Capacity Development Competitiveness Co. for Training (Quodrat), the strategic and executive arm for building and development of the human resources affiliated to HCCD of the Ministry of Public Business Sector.
The Acting Chairman of HCCD of the Ministry of Public Business Sector, Mr. Osama Elhussiany, the Chairman & CEO of Quodrat and GUST Collegiate Council Member Prof. Dr. M. Amr Sadik participated in the graduation ceremony, as well as HCCD board member Eng. Ahmed Fouad, important figures interested in the educational process, and some of the media professionals. Mr. Osama Elhussiany expressed his gratitude to the GUST-Quodrat for providing a high-quality education to all students in the program. Prof. Dr. M. Amr Sadik reiterated the commitment of developing people and then people developing the business.
The 11 students who graduated with Postgraduate Diplomas in Project Management are Senior Engineers & Managers from subsidiary companies of the Holding Company for Construction & Development (HCCD) of the Ministry of Public Business Sector, established since 1960 to cope with the new economic policy that depends on market mechanism, quality assurance and competitiveness. HCCD owns 11 companies categorized as follows: 5 contracting companies, 1 company for designs & engineering consultations, 3 housing companies, 1 electric company, and 1 trading co.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Mohamed G. Kafafy, President of GUST, congratulated the graduates, students and professors. GUST Higher Institute of Engineering & Technology (HIET) in the Borg El-Arab City, Alexandria – Egypt, officially licensed as a non-profit higher educational institution by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research and fully accredited by the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities to grant Engineering degrees. The campus covers approximately 5 acres (2 ha) (feddans) of land with some 6750 m2 of space of modern purpose-built teaching facilities.
The students when studying with us they belong to the HIET as well as the GUST. Our graduates will be eligible to get Joint and Dual Degrees according to each program requirements.

GUST conferred an Honorary Doctorate to the Liberia’s Minister of Public Works, Madam Ruth Coker-Collins
In attendance of Hon. Edwin Melvin Snowe Jr., Chairman on the Senate Committee on Public Works, Infrastructure and Development as well as Senior Executives of the Ministry of Public Works, the Global University of Science and Technology (GUST) in Friday, June 17, 2022, conferred an Honorary Doctor of Science in Civil Engineering Degree to the Liberia’s Minister of Public Works, Madam Ruth Coker-Collins, by the University’s President, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Gamal Kafafy in recognition of her substantive contributions and outstanding achievements in Republic of Liberia and outside of the country, coupled with her quest to prioritize human capital development.
Prof. Kafafy described the Public Works Minister as leader, innovative and hard working, who deserves to be awarded. “She is active in her work and the institution has been following her works,” he pointed out.
The elated Minister extended thanks and appreciation to GUST for the honor done to her and saw it as a testimony of what she has been doing over time. “This day is a great day not because I have been awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science in Civil Engineering Degree, and to brag about adding title of doctor to my name but because my little work of infrastructure development to my country has been recognized,” she explained.
The conferring of Honorary Doctorate Degree on the Works Minister was done recently at the closing of the professional Global Project & Contract Management Program in the Conference Room at the the Ministry of Public Works for 27 participants drawn from five institutions including the Ministry of Public Works, the Association of Liberian Construction Contractors, Engineering Society of Liberia, Society of Women Engineers of Liberia as well as the Liberia Institute of Architects.
At the end of the program all 27 participants received the professional training certificate signed by the President of Global University of Science and Technology (GUST) and the Liberia’s Minister of Public Works. Furthermore, the 20 participants were passed the certification exam successfully and awarded the Certified Global Project Manager (GPM) by the Global Quality Council (GQCO).
The Hon. Edwin Melvin Snowe Jr., revealed that the Senate Committee’s fullest support towards capacity building and the implementation of flagship road projects across the country. “During the confirmation hearing, you assured us that when confirmed, you will endeavor to enhance training of your people and other sectors and today is a clear manifestation of that commitment,” he noted.
Minister Madam Ruth Coker-Collins lauded the leadership of GUST and the Global Quality Council headed by Prof. Kafafy for the training and challenged the beneficiaries of the program to make maximum use of the knowledge acquired from the program and emphasized the overarching need for capacity building for public service practitioners aimed at enhancing productivity. “When Projects and Contracts are properly managed, we will obtain value for money most especially in the Country of ours where budgetary space is limited and our needs for infrastructure development is unlimited,” she noted. Therefore, She is hoping that all of the trainees will utilize the program body of knowledge to enhance the skills and level of professionalism when discharging their duties and responsibilities in them respective area of works. Also she will endeavor to ensure capacity-building for the employees for continuous productivity improvement in government.
At end of the ceremony, the Liberia’s Ministry of Public Works represented by its Minister and Global University of Science and Technology (GUST) represented by its President signed special Memorandum of Agreement to formalize the bonds of mutual recognition and partnership which have grown to work together in a transparent manner to maximize engagement and results for developing professional competencies of staff at the Ministry and its partner organizations.

Degrees Validation by International European University
The Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degree programs granted by the Global University of Science and Technology (GUST) are validated and equivalent to the corresponding degrees granted by the International European University (IEU). It is recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and all the educational programs of the IEU are regulated and approved by it. IEU’s degrees are legalized by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; the degrees are also recognized worldwide. Therefore, GUST graduates eligible to get equivalent degrees from the International European University (IEU).

The Bachelor, Master and Doctorate Degrees awarded by the Global University of Science and Technology (GUST) are validated and equivalent to the corresponding degrees awarded by the San Juan de la Cruz University. This will enable the students of both the universities to acquire a second degree by paying an extra fee. The validation will give the students from both universities a feel of the changing socio-economic differences that the two continents enjoy and how this gap created by the cultural differences could be filled through joint studies.
The San Juan de la Cruz University is regionally accredited University from State Ministry of Public Education and by the National Council of Higher Education Private Universities (CONESUP), The apex national educational body for accreditation, control and regulation of the operation of private universities in the Republic of Costa Rica, Central America. As well as San Juan de la Cruz University is listed in International Association of Universities of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
