The Dr.SD is a professional doctorate program that aims to produce graduates who can develop research-based solutions to persistent sustainability challenges. It will address the need for professionals with advanced academic training who are expected to develop transformative research approaches to address wicked problems based on practical issues in their profession. The threats and complex challenges that human society is facing now calls for a pluridisciplinary approach that transcends traditional solutions, promotes intersectoral cooperation and collaboration and takes on intergenerational equity perspectives.

The Doctorate by Published Work is a prestigious degree awarded for the submission of a portfolio of published research to the standard of a regular Doctorate. This program is designed to recognize the significant contributions of individuals who have already made substantial research contributions in their field. If you have published a significant number of books or peer-reviewed works, you may qualify for a Doctorate by Publication. This route is offered by GUST, typically requiring that your published works demonstrate original and substantial contributions to the field of study.
