International Hon. Doctorate Ceremony in South Africa

At the Global University of Science & Technology (GUST), we believe that true excellence is measured not only by academic achievements, but also by a person’s contributions to humanity, society, and global progress.

In alignment with our commitment to global recognition, GUST proudly launched the International Honorary Doctorate Ceremony on 5 October 2025, held at the prestigious Sandton Hotel, Johannesburg, South Africa.

This milestone event brought together distinguished achievers and professionals whose dedication, innovation, and service have created meaningful impact within their communities and beyond.

The Honorary Doctorate is the highest recognition our University can bestow. It is conferred upon distinguished individuals who embody the values, spirit, and mission of GUST through remarkable achievements, sustained professional excellence, and outstanding service of national or international significance.

At GUST, we firmly believe that those who dedicate themselves to the betterment of society deserve recognition, regardless of fame, status, or financial privilege. For this reason, our Honorary Doctorate program celebrates individuals of substance, whose influence and dedication uplift others and inspire future generations.

All candidates are reviewed under the GUST Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition (PLAR) Framework, which ensures integrity, fairness, and academic credibility in the honorary conferment process.

The evaluation includes:

  • Verification of educational and professional background

  • Assessment of contributions to society and professional field

  • Alignment with GUST’s mission, values, and global development goals

Based on the recommendation of the International Collegiate Council, and with approval by the GUST Board of Governors, the University formally confers the Honorary Doctorate upon selected individuals of outstanding merit.
